Upgrading CRM 2013 to CRM 2015 Outlook Client with SCCM 2012

Upgrading from the 2013 CRM Outlook Client to 2015 was nothing short of a pain in the arse 😦

Much googling and no results lead to the creation of a lovely batch script

So….extract the  CRM2015-Client-ENU-i386.exe to a folder, copy this folder to your SCCM Source Share

Create the simple batch file as below (changing the parameters to fit your environment)

REM Install new CRM
"\\yoursccmserver\Sources$\Applications\CRM Sources\CRM 2015\SetupClient.exe" /q /l "C:\Windows\Temp\CRMforOutlookInstall.log" /norestart REBOOT=ReallySuppress

Create an SCCM Package (NOT an Application)
The command line should simply be the Batch file only, no “” or any other special parameters are needed to run this

Distribute it to your DP’s, then deploy to a User or Device collection (depending on how you manage software deployments)

This will Upgrade from CRM 2013 (without the need for an uninstall) and if you haven’t got 2013 it will install the package for you

That is actually pretty much it….Microsoft Dynamics CRM are the most un-helpful at providing installations and upgrades to clients within Outlook
This works on Office 2010 and Office 2013 (not sure about 2016)….if your on 2007…what are you doing

p.s. the average time to download and install is quite a while approx. 30-40 minutes depending on your connection, this is mainly down to all the bloody pre reqs it needs to install first
